King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) has been founded in 1960 as the telecommunication training center located in Nonthaburi Province under the cooperation of the Thai Government and Japanese Government. Throughout the past five decades and with the strong devotion of our instructors and the alumni, our faculty has been grown up to be Thailand’s preceding rank in Engineering. At the present, our Faculty consists of 10 departments and 48 programs, making our Faculty of Engineering to become the largest faculty in the Institute as well as in Thailand, containing the most courses and as much as 312 instructors. Our faculty cover almost all the field of subjects in Engineering from the basic Engineering to the professional research works.
As the dean of KMITL’s faculty of Engineering and the 39th President of the Council of Engineering Deans of Thailand, I am very proud to say that my management team and I are fully pushing to drive the country’s engineering education to be ready for the 21st century, regardless of curriculums design that emphasize on the outcome based learning, active learning, flipped classroom to encourage our students to be exceled not only in the academic theory but our curriculums will encourage our students to be exceled in the real practice as well as to have the skill to work as leaders in the future for the problem solution or working as a team. In addition, we also promote the learning outside the classrooms by participating in so many clubs according to their interests. In conclusion, we select only the best things for our students.
KMITL’s stride forward development until it has been grown as it is seen today because we have the good starting point, that is the support from Japan as it can be said that our institute is a half breed of Thai and foreigner. Today the world outlook has been changed into the globalization and the development of engineering body of knowledge beyond the original frame of thinking must be basically relied on the multi-knowledge. We are very pleased to welcome the international exchange students and researchers to perform the research works with us for the sustainable growth together. Furthermore, we are preparing to open the international course to stand by for the international students who will come to join our degree program here.
Sincerely,
Associate Professor Dr. Komsan Maleesee
Dean, Faculty of Engineering
